There’s been a fair amount of hype this season on Arsenal - their stingy defense and their goal scoring prowess (something they have lacked for a number of years) - Today in one of the Group Stage Marquee games That purring Bavarian engine that looks to be truly back to the big boy Bayern Munich of the past - head into the Emirates Stadium to take on the (as we’ve said) much lauded 2025/26 Arsenal - who are hoping to have pretty boy & gifted player Martin Odegaard back from injury.
The Gunners swept aside North London rivals Spurs at the weekend and come into today with the wind definitely behind them (They’re 6 points clear at the top of the EPL) - funny, after 11 games in the German league (10 wins & 1 draw for Bayern) they also find themselves 6 points clear at the top.
This is a heavyweight clash that either team can win - this is totally worth the watch
Speaking of Spurs, they may be in need of a little PTSD counseling after their trip to Paris tonight, shipping 4 goals to Arsenal on Sunday might just be the tip of the iceberg - They need a strong defensive showing & I don’t know they’ve got it in them - this could be gruesome
Real Madrid travel to Athens and PSV head to Anfield in what is fast becoming a train wreck of a season for Liverpool - poor Arne’s Slot Machine isn’t at all running to plan - the reds in desperate need of a comfortable win (which should be well within them)
The other match at 3 that should be pretty good sees Inter Milan head to the wonderful Metropolitano stadium in Madrid to take on tough guys Atletico - Inter sit on 12 points out of 12 so far & Atleti sit on 6 out of 12, a home loss for Atleti could hole them below the waterline for making the knockout stages - so figure James Bond mad man coach Diego Simeone will have his boys “jacked up” like nobody’s business and harass the daylights out of Inter - but those Milanese sure know how to defend - this should be a good watch
